The soap box derby racers were just begging for a great racing layout. So here's mine -- maybe not great, but I like it. It's a four way racer, with four independent tracks. So you have to be careful when building to get them to all fit together. The picture below shows you how it should look when they're all built. I didn't save paths or scenery with these, since it is easier to get these built without it.
I've also made a pretty good attempt at arranging it so that all four vehicles cross the "finish line" at about the same time. (That's where the track goes from color to gray.) Just look at that photo finish in the screen shot! Sadly, in order to get them to finish together, the track layout is a lot more boring than what I started with. Oh well...nothing's perfect, right?
Slap some scenery down next to this ride, though, and you can get some pretty darn good excitement ratings. But nothing's perfect -- remember -- so the ride capacity (riders per hour) on this ride leaves a lot to be desired. Still, it's fun to watch it operating.
